OUR STORY

Crazy Bastard Sauce was created from a passion for chilis. As a life-long chili fan, Jonathan O'Reilly wanted a sauce that isn't just hot, but has the real charactaristic flavour and heat of the chilis at its core.

 

Every chili fan has a favourite pepper type, from Habanero to Ghost Pepper and up to the dreaded Carolina Reaper, and each pepper has a different flavour, heat and identity. The seven Crazy Bastard Sauces each use a different type of chili, which is paired with ingredients that are specially selected to compliment the flavour of the chili.

 

The peppers are oven roasted to help bring out their flavour and sweetness, and only the highest quality natural ingredients are added. No sugar is used, and the only preservative is a very fine Italian vinegar.

THE TEAM

With our small production team we make all our sauces in house. Every production day we turn about 120 kg of fresh ingrediants into 1,200 bottles of sauce. Some weeks we can make up to 5,000 bottles of hot sauce.

The sauces have been impressing chili fans since 2013, and have won many awards internationally, including top prizes at the World Hot Sauce Awards (Louisianna, USA), The New York Hot Sauce Expo, and Great Taste Awards (UK). Now with a small team of chili lovers, Crazy Bastard Sauce continues to hand make top quality hot sauces in Berlin Neukölln.

TIMELINE

2016

Crazy Bastard Kitchen Starts as its own restaurant sharing the same shop. Sebastian Knight starts as the main chef and his famous Chicken Burger is born.

2018

100,000 bottles of Hot Sauce produced

We moved to a dedicated production space on Ossastr. 21a Conveniently a 2 minute walk from the old place so we can get our post easily.

2021

The restaurant grows so big that it needs it's own place.

We move into Weserstr 168, Berlin and start making a lot more sauce.
